FDL Late Night: Jon Huntsman, Homeless, Pulls a Coulter on Voter Reg
Outgoing Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman, known everywhere as The Sane Moderate One (or The Other Mormon Dude) among 2012 Goat Rodeo participants, has a bit of an “oopsie” of the Ann Coulter variety when it comes to his voter registration:
Washington • Jon Huntsman Jr. is still registered to vote as a resident of the Utah governor’s mansion even through he resigned his office some 19 months ago to become the U.S. ambassador to China.
In fact, Huntsman voted by absentee ballot for last year’s general election using the state-owned mansion on South Temple as his Utah residence — months after Gov. Gary Herbert settled into the historic building and Huntsman purchased a home in Washington, D.C.
Unless… is there some kind of non-LDS approved relationship that the former governor and Governor Gary would like to tell us about? They aren’t live-in friends, are they? And, if they are not, does mega-millionaire heir Huntsman really expect American voters to believe that he was without a domicile upon leaving the Governor’s mansion in Utah for the Ambassador’s residence in Beijing?
After all, it’s practically a requirement that the Republican presidential nominee have multiple homes, in the most recent case more than he’s able to count. I hardly think the T-GOP is ready to nominate a homeless man who’s committed voter fraud, do you? There’s a whole subset of voters, called Republicans Abroad, tailor-made for exactly this kind of overseas posting.
Funny that Huntsman decided not to avail himself of it.
