If the claws didn’t retract, cats would be like Velcro. ~Bruce Fogle

Well, now, Caturday in the midst of a revolution in Egypt. Mayhaps they’ll put cats back into a sacred being category.

Bast or Bastet

Last Sunday night I managed to coax Mojo onto the waterbed. He walked around sniffing every square inch. Then he settled down at the foot of the bed and was in the same spot when I woke up Monday morning. He’s been on the bed ever since. Sleeps on it during the day as well. Around 5am Wednesday morning he woke me up by makin’ biscuits on the side of my face. Shooed him away and hasn’t repeated that little annoyance. He and Nagi take turns sleeping next to my chest during the night.

I saw this over at DKos earlier this week. Heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. The embedded video takes forever to load in full so click on the YouTube logo at bottom right for a better viewing experience. These little guys are so cute.

Beagle Habilitation

Igraine is one sharp little kitteh. A few weeks ago she started not eating her dry food, instead waiting for me to open the doors to the canned food after their feeding time. I started picking up the canned food leftovers and giving it to Max, George and Sweetie Pie from next door. Then we had the 5 day period of little eating of anything by anybody and the next door kittehs were essentially getting a second breakfast and dinner. When the kittehs starting eating again they were leaving virtually nothing in any of the bowls so I was letting the dry food kittehs eat what little canned food scraps remained. Three days ago Igraine started her waiting for canned food again. Nipped that one in the bud and now the next door kittehs are getting leftovers again. The dad may be slow but he ain’t that slow.

Don’t know that I could handle a litter this size.

If we treated everyone we meet with the same affection we bestow upon our favorite cat, they, too, would purr. ~Martin Buxbaum
