Hugh Hewitt a Helpful Reminder of Just How Radical the Right is in 2010
The biggest problem with American politics today is that we’ve only got two parties. One of them is corrupt, and the other is corrupt and crazy.
Now, mind you — I don’t use that term lightly. I mean really, absolutely nuts, certifiable — head-trauma crazy.
And today, Hugh Hewitt’s unhinged column at Clownhall demonstrates just how crazy the right has become.
Rolling back Obamacare will be at the top of many to-do lists for 2011, but a far more significant power grab is underway at the United States Environmental Protection Agency, and blocking it should be the first priority of incoming chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee Fred Upton. […]
This is cap-and-trade or cap-and-tax by another name and via an extraordinary power grab sanctioned by President Obama and his environmental “csar” Carol Browner and being executed by one of the most determined of all of Team Obama’s big government disciplines, Lisa Jackson, administrator of EPA.
Without a doubt, your average Clownhall reader probably doesn’t realize that the EPA was proposed and created by Hewitt’s old boss, the noted far-left statist, Richard M. Nixon. This wingnut is also most likely unaware that “cap-and-tax” was originally implemented by the radical tree-hugging socialist, George H.W. Bush, and embraced by fellow travelers such as Richard Lugar (R-IN) and John McCain (R-AZ).
In other words, the EPA and cap-and-trade are Republican ideas. And yet — these conservative ideas are now disparaged as sinister instruments of “centralized and powerful government rule over the lives of its citizens” by wingnuts like Hugh Hewitt. That’s how far to the right the scale has titled.
Anyone who thinks you can find “common ground” with these deranged teahadists is just kidding themselves.
Gonna be a fun 2011.
