Al Franken Joins the Capitulation Crowd

Wow.  What a shocker.  Al Franken voted for Obama’s tax cut capitulation.

Seems the American House of Lords has its latest convert to the Capitulation Crowd.

Franken claims its the hardest vote that he has ever cast.  No, Al it is not.  Just wait until March when a debt ceiling “crisis” happens, and the Republicans demand draconian cuts in Social Security.

Prediction on what Al will say in March:  “I had to vote for Social Security cuts in order to protect the full faith and credit of the United States government!”

My favorite part of Al’s piece  on the Huffington Post was that he believed Obama would fight against permanent extension of the Bush tax cuts.  Al takes Obama at his word.  Really.

On a more serious note, I am making a plea to any reader of FDL who has worked for a U.S. Senator or studied in depth the inner workings of the U.S. Senate.  I would greatly appreciate a reference, link, or just an explanation of the dynamics of the group think in the U.S. Senate.  Or I should say, “group stupidity and dishonesty.”

Oh, and one more thing Al.  The vote in the Senate was 81 to 19 for this shitty deal.  Would it really have mattered all that much if the vote had been 80 to 20?  I think the Capitulation Crowd could have been spared your vote on this issue.
