Intelligence agency pays Bad Guy for information in confusing environment deemed national priority!

That’s not to disrespect Jim Risen’s formidable reporting talents, since I definitely would have reported that Hajji Juma Khan was a CIA asset if I had discovered it, and he did and I didn’t. But let’s not all catch the vapors on CIA for doing what the country has asked it to do for going on seven decades. And usually, when alleged national priorities cut against CIA’s operations, and those operations continue, we typically learn what “national priorities” truly are.

This, however, is a truly shocking piece of information:

His New York lawyer, Steven Zissou, denied that Mr. Juma Khan had ever supported the Taliban or worked for the C.I.A.

Hajji Juma Khan receives legal representation from a Wes Anderson character?
