We’ve had a week of warm weather, into the high 80s a couple days, and the tigers fell right back into the sleeping all day routine. Shorts or long pants? Go out onto the porch and test the weather.

The kitten and the owl pictured above have become best friends! It all started when a litter of stray kittens were given to the Hawk Conservancy Trust in Hampshire. This cute kitteh became fast friends with Nigel, a white-faced scops owl. Just goes to show: Friendship knows no bounds when it comes to species! (Icanhascheezburger caption)

Toes continues to loosen up. In the evening, after they’ve been fed, he’ll come out of the bedroom to see if there’s any kibble left in the dry food bowls then will go hang out in the kitchen. I’m in and out of the kitchen all the time (I’m a grazer and making tea, etc) and Toes sits and talks to me. A short “meow” easily replicated and we go back and forth. He’ll take petting for a few minutes but for most of the evening he’ll be close by, laying on the floor. Progress.

Maste’s incontinence is easing up. Apparently it takes his system longer to become used to the change in diet than the others. I’m gonna have to keep them on the original Iams diet for a while cuz I don’t want to change diets again if and when the recalled formulas show back up in the stores and put them through another change after such a short time.

Tama has discovered he likes being under the covers. I’m only using an Afghan a former girlfriend made for me in the 70s (psychedelic colours, no less) and when I flipped the covers over him as he was laying up towards the pillow he didn’t move and stayed there all night. Wonder how many copy cats I’ll end up with.
