If the White House Gets Rolled by the GOP on Tax Cuts, What’s the Point of Voting for Democrats?
This comment by David Axelrod is simply amazing.
Extending tax cuts for the top income bracket had previously been a red line the administration refused to cross.
“We have to deal with the world as we find it,” Axelrod said in the interview. “The world of what it takes to get this done.”
Um, the world as we find it — and that Barack Obama inherited when he won the election — has Democrats with large majorities in the Senate and the House. So, what’s stopping them from passing the tax cuts they want and renaming them “the Obama tax cuts”? What was the point of electing a Democratic Congress in ’06 and ’08?
We already have one party that puts the interests of the rich and powerful above the people. We don’t need another.
