British, Germans Say George W. Bush Still Lying about Iraq, Al Qaeda, Torture

NATO members say his pants are on fire.

In his new book, The Decider claims the Germans gave him the okay to invade Iraq. The former German Chancellor says he’s lying.

The former American president is not telling the truth,” he [Gerhard Schröder] said. He said the meeting in question focused on the terror attacks of Sept. 11, 2001 and whether those responsible were supported by the Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein.

He also calls BS on the whole al Qaeda-Saddam connection, and accuses BushCo of fabricating it.

“Just as I did during my subsequent meetings with the American president, I made it clear that, should Iraq … prove to have provided protection and hospitality to al-Qaida fighters, Germany would reliably stand beside the US,” Shröder said. “This connection, however, as it became clear during 2002, was false and constructed.”

Meanwhile, the British have their own bone to pick with The Decider’s truthiness regarding torture.

British officials said today there was no evidence to support claims by George Bush, the former US president, that information extracted by “waterboarding” saved British lives by foiling attacks on Heathrow airport and Canary Wharf. In his memoirs, Bush said the practice – condemned by Downing Street as torture – was used in CIA interrogations of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the alleged mastermind of the 9/11 attacks on the US.

When was the last time an American President was accused of lying by two NATO countries on the same day?
