George W. Bush Says His “Biggest Accomplishment” Was Keeping Us “Safe”

Wow, talk about grading yourself on a curve.

“I would like to be remembered as a guy who had a set of priorities, and was willing to live by those priorities,” explained Bush. “In terms of accomplishments, my biggest accomplishment is that I kept the country safe amidst a real danger.

Only someone who failed upwards his entire life could possibly give himself a mulligan on presiding over the worst domestic attack in US history, especially since he was warned in advance about it.

Oh, and there’s also that minor Katrina incident, the launching of two disastrous wars, the failure to capture or kill bin Laden — not to mention the destruction of the US economy*.

But he kept us very safe!

Just more evidence that legacy admissions and trust funds — otherwise known as affirmative action for Republicans — are destroying America.

(*Memo to Atrios: the Anthrax guy was clearly Clinton’s fault.)
