In Which Karl Rove Helpfully Demonstrates the Freudian Concept of Projection

The son of a gay man who demonizes gays. An atheist who courts fundie voters. A Nixon protege who denounces Nixonian tactics.

Yep, Freud could write volumes about this guy.

Karl Rove charged Sunday that President Barack Obama has an “enemies list,” after the White House escalated its argument that Rove and others are orchestrating a flood of midterm-election ads paid for by unknown donors […]

Rove, in an e-mail to POLITICO, said: ““It is sad to see the president diminish his office by these baseless attacks. Even the truth doesn’t restrain him when it comes to assaulting his enemies list.

Yeah, only some kind of Machiavellian sociopath would keep a running list of enemies.

Also reserved for between the covers of Rove’s book is his checklist of the “great many of the political actors in this town (who) never accepted him as a legitimate president.”

“I’ve got behind-the-scenes episodes that are going to show how unreceiving they were of this man as president of the United States,” Rove said, adding: “I’m going to name names and show examples.”

Any minute now, Rove will accuse Obama of questioning political opponents’ patriotism, while scapegoating homosexuals and minorities.
