Notwitstanding all of the frequently enumerated items of discontent with President Obama, and the Democrats, there is a reason to vote for them:

The Republicans are determined to undermine all work on climate change and renewable energy.

You can complain as much as you want about the rest, everyone has their "issues" but this is the first and easily the most serious problem (planet wide catastrophe ) we face.

all else, spying, drone planes, guantanamo, social sec. health care, will be insignicant, if this is not dealt with.

The Republicans are determined to drive the USA and maybe the world of the cliff of global warming.

not voting cause you are unhappy about lack of progress on other issues ……. very foolish indeed.

at least, there is a chance, of progress with Obama.

As a scientist, I shouldn’t have a stake in the upcoming midterm elections, but unfortunately, it seems that I — and indeed all my fellow climate scientists — do.

Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) has threatened that, if he becomes chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, he will launch what would be a hostile investigation of climate science. The focus would be on e-mails stolen from scientists at the University of East Anglia in Britain last fall that climate-change deniers have falsely claimed demonstrate wrongdoing by scientists, including me. Rep. James Sensenbrenner (R-Wis.) may do the same if he takes over a committee on climate change and energy security.

Mann deserves to be heard — and not just because he has been the focus of the most incessant and deceitful anti-science attacks, and not just because is probably the most thoroughly vindicated climate scientist in the country both in his academic practices and scientific research

better not stay home this time.
