Remember when the right was calling Adolf Hussein Obamastalin’s rescue of the auto industry some sort of Communist plot? Remember all the “Government Motors” jokes?

The rescue of the auto industry is proving to be an unexpected success, and the president’s biggest economic policy achievement to date.

Every dollar spent with GM is a dollar spent against free enterprise.
“Just giving them $25 billion doesn’t change anything,” Sen. Jon Kyl of Arizona, the Senate’s second-ranking Republican, said on Fox News Sunday. “It just puts off for six months or so the day of reckoning.”
“We should have let the market forces work it out,” he said. “That’s the way we’ve always done it … What we’ve done … it’s the road toward socialism, government intervention in the market in a big way. What’s the end game here and can the American people afford it. I think the answer is obviously not.”
