The cat seldom interferes with other people’s rights. His intelligence keeps him from doing many of the fool things that complicate life. ~Carl Van Vechten

Nothing much to relate from Chez Tigre this week. Mojo has settled in and we’re pretty much back to normal. I’ve learned not to bend over around him or he’ll be on my shoulders before I can blink. Little guy is definitely gonna toughen my old hide. He likes the highest spot in the room although he’s just as comfortable on the dining table or in my lap. He’s a talker, too.

I ran across this story last week. 55 monkeys and 100 beagles rescued from a company which had closed its doors. I’m one of those who is dead set against the torture of animals for cosmetic and other product testing. The events in this video don’t happen enough. We need to outlaw all testing on animals. Monkeys and dogs aren’t the only animals used for testing. Cats and bunnies are also used in this horrific way.

Do you have a first aid kit at home? A lot of minor wounds, etc are easily treated at home without having to spend the rent money at the vet’s.

Attain to utmost Emptiness
Cling single-heartedly to interior peace
While all things are stirring together
I only contemplate the Return
For flourishing as they do,
Each of them will return to its root.
To return to the root is to find peace.
To find peace is to fulfill one’s destiny.
To fulfill one’s destiny is to be constant.
To know the Constant is called Insight.

If one does not know the Constant,
One runs blindly into disasters.
If one knows the Constant,
One can understand and embrace all.
If one understand and embraces all,
One is capable of doing justice.
To be just is to be kingly;
To be kingly is to be heavenly;
To be heavenly is to be one with the Tao,
To be one with the Tao is to abide forever.
Such a one will be safe and whole
Even after the dissolution of his body.
