I hope everyone is enjoying their Independence Day weekend…

Recently I noticed a growing tendency for people to express “LGBT” with the “T” separated from the “LGB” with the use of “/”,”&”,”+”, or “and”. This is particularly true in the British Isles but also happens here in the United States and Canada. In some ways this bothers me because it is saying their is an “LGB” community and a separate “T” community… We are already marginalized by the LGB community and the straight community this can only lead to greater marginalization. I can see the point that there is a difference between gender identity and sexual orientation but those that oppose us consider us all in the same light. If “T's” are separated from the rest of the community it will not be long before they also want to separate out the “B's” and then the “L's”. We have a much better chance to reach full equality for everone if we all stand for each other as one community. Many transsexuals like myself are both trans and lesbian, gay or Bisexual.
