John Boehner: Republicans Will Repeal Health Care Reform, Except for the Stuff That’s Awesome
Here’s Tanman on NPR, talking about what the Republicans will do if they take over the House in November.
“I think that we need to repeal the health care law and replace it with common-sense steps that will lower the cost of health insurance in America,” Boehner (R-OH) tells NPR’s Steve Inskeep.
Yeah, I’m sure President Obama will go right along with that.
But then Tanman own goals himself (from audio).
INSKEEP: Democrats will point to the fact that college seniors who would’ve been kicked off their families’ insurance plans when they graduated will get to stay on. Insurance companies are now saying they’re going to end the practice of rescission….[crosstalk] Are you going to repeal those two specific things?
TANMAN: Uh, I, what I wanna repeal are the, uh, other 158 mandates, commissions, boards, that step up all the infrastructure for the government to take control of our health care system.
Uh, what I wanna, uh…FAIL. That would be a “no.”
Strong messaging, there, Tanman.
