WASHINGTON (Roiders) – Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), hoping to keep alive a proposal for new offshore oil drilling, said that nature thrives on adapting to challenges like oil spills.

"We Republicans believe in doing our share for the evolutionary process," said Graham. Asked whether this meant he was embracing Darwin over Jesus, Graham said he "goes both ways."

"Big Oil has been good me over the years," he added. "There’s a pot of black gold at the end of this rainbow."
