Sarah Palin Should Cancel Her Tea Party Convention Keynote

Tom Tancredo welcomed the tea partiers with this language:

People who could not spell the word vote or say it in English put a committed socialist ideologue in the White House — name is Barack Hussein Obama.

There is no place in America for this type of racial and ethnic hate-mongering.

The Center for Community Change calls on Sarah Palin to cancel her key-note address to the conference in protest of this type of wrongheaded and hateful speech.

In these hard economic times, it is more important than ever for America’s hard hit communities to stand together. Scapegoating our problems on immigrants and minorities and nurturing the flames of anger and hatred will only tear America apart.

We’re hopeful she’ll live up to the call for tolerance she made during a recent interview with Glenn Beck:

We need to continue to be so welcoming and inviting of those who are represented there by our Statue of Liberty. The immigrants, of course, built this country. And I think Republicans, conservatives are at fault when we allow the other side to capture this immigration issue and try to turn this issue into something negative for Republicans.
