Okay first some shameless congratulations are in order:

Two of the films we’ve hosted for FDL Movie Night, The Cove and Food, Inc. are nominated for Best Documentary (Feature):

The Cove and Food, Inc.

Okay, what did get nominated? Well, Dances with Smurfs Avatar picked up 9 noms, including Best Picture, though now that category has 10 slots, I guess because with so much out there it’s hard to make a decision?  Up, another animated feature got a Best Picture nomination…but ya know I like movies with people in them. So do all the below the line crew folks.

Inglourious Basterds…um maybe not so much.

Will Clooney and Bridges cancel each other in Best Actor? Oooh, Colin Firth!

Best Actress…oh Helen Mirren. If only because Meryl Street forgot to mention  blogger/author Julie Powell in her Golden Globes speech.   Supporting actress? Let’s so it up for Mo’nique.

If James Cameron’s ex-wife wins more Oscars than he, or if her film, Hurt Locker winds Best Picture, will he need Cialis for a year? One hopes…

We’ll be live blogging it March 7
