For the countless FDL posters claiming the PO will lower the deficit, a bit of reality must set in: we cannot be living in fantasyland like the Republicans.

The PO ONLY LOWERS THE DEFICIT IF ALL OF THE PHYSICIAN PAY CUTS ARE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN OVER THE NEXT TEN YEARS.

This will. never. happen.

The dems have already done the first 2 month extension — and, even if it is year by year, it will not happen.

If the 21.5% percent cut happens, all the talk about increased access to care will go out the window— say what you will about about greedy doctors, etc, but doctors will not stay in business, or medicare providers if this goes through.

The merits of a PO should never include deficit cutting since the argument does not hold up to even the first question of scrutiny.
