John McCain to President Obama: Get Off My Damn Lawn
The Maverick was in a particularly bi-partisany mood last night.
[President Obama] first addressed right-wing criticisms that he is overseeing out-of-control spending by noting the situation he faced when he took office…The camera then cut to Sen. John McCain (R-AZ), who leaned over to Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and appeared to whisper, “Blame it on Bush.” The two men then laughed.
Well, everyone agrees we need jobs — right?
Sen. John McCain said he wouldn’t support President Barack Obama’s push for a new jobs bill, saying it would just be a repeat of failed policy.
“It’s a stimulus bill again. It’s failed.”
OK, then. What about bringing the US military into the 21st century?
“In his State of the Union address, President Obama asked Congress to repeal the ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ policy. […] At a time when our Armed Forces are fighting and sacrificing on the battlefield, now is not the time to abandon the policy.”
What about the whole speech, Mav?
“I think that the American people don’t really enjoy these pauses of seeing members of Congress jump up and down like juveniles,” he said. “It’s just — these are very difficult times. Seems to me we ought to maybe restrain ourselves.”
I think McSame needs to mix in a few extra naps. He sounds very grouchy these days.
