The Day is Gone…But, it Doesn’t Have to Be Over
Good Morning Pups! Well, we made it through another Thanksgiving Day and I don’t know about you, but I need to hit the gym! I went to church Thursday morning, and then Rashad and I hit the road for our two and a half hour trip to Hampton, VA to be with my family. Oh, what a feast they had prepared!
The food was delicious, but it was just nice being around family and friends and just enjoying time with one another. And, guess what….I didn’t take my laptop out once! I did check a few emails from my phone, but that doesn’t really count, does it?
How was everybody’s Thanksgiving…any highlights?
Now that the actual holiday is over, the sentiment or traditions don’t have to be. To me, every day is a day of Thanksgiving. As I am getting older, I am learning to give thanks daily for what is most important to me. The other night on Facebook, I posted my status as “So thankful for Love, Peace and Happiness”. Don’t wait until next year to enjoy your family or friends…or eat that extra piece of pie, LOL. Take a moment every time you think about it and just be thankful.
Not only can the traditions live on, the food stays around for a while too. Thanksgiving leftovers are really the only leftovers that I like. I think my family has come up with every use of the turkey afterwards there can be…turkey sandwiches, turkey salad, turkey soup, and my favorite…turkey hash over rice!
What are some of your favorite creations for all of that leftover food from Thursday? Let’s share.
