Watch Glenn Beck Claim A Scalp For Dunn Stepping Down From An Interim Postition

A few weeks ago, Glenn Beck decided to make a big show over White House communications director Anita Dunn, who had been leading the charge in the Administration against Fox News, making a comment about Mao tse-tung being one of her favorite political philosophers. You’ll be unsurprised to learn that he mangled the quote.

That was then, and it’s been weeks since any discussion has ensued on this. But today, Dunn announced that she would step down from the post, and Dan Pfeiffer would become the new communications director. You can almost hear Glenn Beck roaring triumphantly over this. But the fact is that the job was always temporary:

Dunn, a longtime Democratic media consultant, took over the job on an interim basis earlier this year when Ellen Moran abruptly left the post to take a job at the Commerce Department […]

The passing of the baton from Dunn to Pfeiffer had long been expected within White House circles as she had made clear when she took the job that the “interim” in her title was meant to be taken literally.

Not that this will stop the exultation over at Camp Beck.
