I am SO proud of Maine and thankful for everyone's efforts.
Having almost half the vote is actually a HUGE success – it means people are truly listening but our rights are not going to come overnight. We do have to be patient because our time is coming BUT we also have to be dilligent by working hard and with honesty to achieve our goals.
Personally, I am angry and I am incredibly pained at the outcome of Maine's elections but at the same time, I know we have it in us to continue the fight. I am proud of our community. I am proud of who we are and what we've become. I am also proud that we've never allowed opponents to change us in irreparable ways.
This type of bigotry is sadly nothing new to certain religious groups.
They have perfected the “win” which is usually not done in truthfulness or with integrity…. and that alone has always caused them to “lose” in the end.
We can do this. We will do this. We will be seen and heard and listened to and most importantly, we will show that we are strong and willing to work for what is rightfully ours. Thank you again Maine for helping lead the way to a better future for all of us.
