What fresh hell will this week bring?

Each week the reactionary right seems to devolve to yet another level of delusion. It is as bizarre as it is disturbing (and, yeah, it’s funny, thanks for the material). We’ve had Lou Dobbs suspending the brow-beating of hispanics long enough to entertain the birthers; Glenn Beck playing the world’s pastiest race-card; and someone let Michelle Malkin out amongst polite company. And this was all just in the last week or so.

But the winner was undoubtedly Nancy Genovese — Glenn Beck fan, Gun Enthusiast, Teabagger, and reenacter of various scenes from the Turner Diaries:

A Long Island mother of three — armed to the teeth with an assault rifle and shotgun — was arrested for scouting out and taking pictures of an Air National Guard base in the Hamptons, authorities said…

Caracappa said Genovese was taking photographs of the perimeter of the base. A search of her car uncovered an arsenal — an XM-15 assault rifle, a shotgun and 500 rounds of ammunition…

Ms. Genovese also maintained a twitter page that certainly would be the envy of Ted Nugent.

So, what will be the new craziness be this week? How can they top themselves?

Attaturk

In 1949, I decided to wrestle professionally, starting my career in Texas. In my debut, I defeated Abe Kashey, with former World Heavyweight boxing Champion Jack Dempsey as the referee. In 1950, I captured the NWA Junior Heavyweight title. In 1953, I won the Chicago version of the NWA United States Championship. I became one of the most well-known stars in wrestling during the golden age of television, thanks to my exposure on the Dumont Network, where I wowed audiences with my technical prowess. I was rumored to be one of the highest paid wrestlers during the 1950s, reportedly earning a hundred thousand dollars a year. My specialty was "the Sleeper Hold" and the founding of modern, secular, Turkey.

Oops, sorry, that's the biography of Verne Gagne with a touch of Mustafa Kemal.

I'm just an average moron who in reality is a practicing civil rights and employment attorney in fly-over country .
