More On My Murdered Neighbor
From the San Diego News Network‘s Dead woman identified; boyfriend booked for murder:
A 58-year-old woman believed to have been killed by her boyfriend was identified today.
Barbara Jean Moore was declared dead at Scripps Mercy Hospital in Hillcrest about 2:15 p.m. Friday, according to the Medical Examiner’s Office.
An autopsy is pending.
Moore’s boyfriend, Harold Dwayne Jones, called police about 9:15 a.m. Friday, and police found Moore suffering from apparent head trauma at a home in the 4400 block of Illinois Street, San Diego police homicide Lt. Terry McManus said…
I’ve heard details of what the injuries were from one of my neighbors…well, the fatal injuries weren’t pretty at all. On one hand I’m heartened that the killing was apparently a domestic crime and that there’s no particular added danger in living in my neighborhood, but…well, how heartened can one be about a murder happening across the walkway and two doors down from one’s home?
Realistically I’m not that heartened. The crime was particularly brutal; no one deserves to die a brutal death like Barbara did.
One of my neighbors is taking in both of Barbara’s two cats. I offered to take one or both of the cats and add them to my Kat Kollective (of Bon-Bon and Maggie), but my neighbor is going to keep both of the Barbara’s cats together. I told my neighbor that it’s a standing offer for me to take one or both of the cats should he need to pass one or both off to someone else.
Frankly, caring about the two orphaned cats seems pretty important at this point.
