Hello, people! I’m really happy to be a new addition to the crew at The Seminal. As you’ll quickly find out, I am obsessed with nonviolence and with U.S. foreign policy–two great tastes that taste weird together. Right now I’m focused on the Afghanistan war and related issues. When I’m not writing for The Seminal, you can usually find me hammering away at Return Good for Evil, where I write about current events from the perspective of Christian nonviolence.
From 2002-2008, I worked in Washington, D.C. for various Democratic members of Congress. The view from the inside has made me a harsh critic, and often my posts call out the president and Congress for not being progressive enough and/or for adopting pro-war or regressive framing in an attempt to seem "reasonable." I’ve also got a background in online campaigns and politics. All of these things tend to influence by perspective and fuel my tough love for people in politics who want to claim the progressive mantle.
On the rare occasions when I’m unplugged from the Interwebs, I am writer and a Creating a Culture of Peace nonviolence training facilitator.
I am thrilled to be a part of the community here. Feel free to add/follow me:
