R-71 Backer Ron Boehme Literally Demonizes Opponents

UPDATE:  A few minutes before my diary was set to go live, Boehme sent notice of a newer blog post.  Not only does it use the same Demonize Your Opponent in Three Easy Steps formula as described below, it answers the question I had below: Will he have the fortitude to publicly call the defenders of LGBT civil rights “followers of Lucifer”?  Details at the end of the post.

So followers of Lucifer (either consciously or unconsciously) are for abortion and against capital punishment because he is.

  — Ron Boehme

Referendum 71 endorser Ron Boehme has a new blog post up called “Why Pro-Abortionists are Anti-Capital Punishment and Vice Versa”.  A better title would be Demonizing Your Opponent in Three Easy Steps, by Ron Boehme.

Step One. Remove Complicating Realities from the Equation:

Why are those who are for abortion (killing babies in the womb) usually against capital punishment (the killing of murderers)?  Why are they for killing the innocent but not the guilty?

The opposite is also true: Why are those who are against abortion (the taking of innocent human lives) usually for capital punishment?  Again, this seems to be a contradiction. If they are in favor of saving young lives, why are they not in favor of saving criminals?

Boehme slickly sidesteps the complicating realities that being pro-choice is not the same as being pro-abortion, and that being found guilty of murder isn’t necessarily related to being guilty of murder.Step Two. Force an Atheist Definition on Opponents.

Have you also noticed this about these two sides:

   * The anti-abortion/pro-capital punishment folks are usually Christians, or have a Judeo-Christian or traditional value view of life. They believe in God and the biblical view of life.

   * The pro-abortion/anti-capital punishment people are usually secularists or humanists in their orientation and worldview. They don’t believe in God-and thus don’t view life and justice from his perspective.

Virtually every person I know who opposes capital punishment is Christian.  They include a variety of people, from the Pope to my Baptist minister dad.  If you’re going to demonize people, wouldn’t you want to base your assumptions on hard data so as not to cast to wrong people in with Lucifer?  Oh, but then what would be the use in demonizing…

Step Three. Assign Lucifer to Your Opponent’s Views and Yourself to God’s.

So what’s really behind these sobering differences and seeming contradictions?…I believe it’s the truth of spiritual warfare. There’s a God and there’s a devil. That’s the Best Explanation.

Here’s how it works. God is the author of life. He’s for people and for life. The life he creates is precious from the moment of conception (Psalm 139), so those who believe in Him are against the taking of innocent life. But that same God of life and love is a Just and Holy God. When human beings, made in his image, wrongly take the lives of other human lives, in God’s sense of perfect justice they deserve to die. Twenty verses after God said “You shall not kill” in the Ten Commandments, he inaugurated capital punishment in the Hebrew nation (Exodus 20).

So followers of God are against abortion and for capital punishment because God is.

But there is also a devil, impacting the hearts and minds of people who do not believe. The devil-called Satan or Lucifer-influences non-believers in his direction. Satan wants to destroy people (John 10:10). That’s why he promotes killing babies-49 million to date- in the United States.  He’s the agitator of death. On the other hand, he encourages those who don’t value life to stop executions because he does not share God’s concept of justice and wants to promote chaos in society for his own destructive ends.

So followers of Lucifer (either consciously or unconsciously) are for abortion and against capital punishment because he is.

Bring it Home:  Recap Using Words Ringing With Unearned Authority

Thus, the Best Explanation for this seeming contradiction is that there are two primary spiritual forces in the world shaping people’s thoughts and positions.  There is a God and there is a devil.

That explains it best.

It explains a lot of other things too.

I’d like for Boehme to get specific about that “a lot of other things too” part.  Will he have the fortitude to publicly call the defenders of LGBT civil rights “followers of Lucifer”?  He has stated that incremental domestic partnership laws are “this century’s paramount issue”, even surpassing abortion.  So it seems likely that he considers me, a super-majority of the legislature, the governor and 67% of Washington voters “followers of Lucifer” too.

A Brief Boehme Recap:

Ron Boehme is the failed legislative candidate who said that repealing an incremental domestic partnership bill is more important than preventing a holocaust.  He then invited carpetbaggers to Washington to help him and Oregon Gary lie to voters.  Boehme seems obsessed with things demonic, writing of “a demonic network of evil that is enticing individuals and nations to do what is wrong and reject their God-given consciences” that “should be rejected at all cost”.  Boehme is also known to use terrorist trigger terms like “satanic”, “murderer”, “baby killer” and “mass murderers” when supposedly lamenting the assassination of abortion providers.

THE UPDATE SUPPORTING MATERIAL

This being – called Satan or Lucifer – influences non-believers in his direction. Satan wants to destroy people (John 10:10), and the easiest way to do this is to blind them to right and wrong. That’s why he’s for free sex, fornication, pornography, homosexuality, killing babies, altering marriage – and anything else that cripples the human spirit and separates them from a holy God.

  — Ron Boehme

Boehme must be writing a series of these Demonize Your Opponent in Three Easy Step things.  Today’s is called “Why Liberals Want Moral Freedoms and Business Restraints.  Let’s walk it through those Three Easy Steps.

Step One. Remove Complicating Realities from the Equation:

Two worldviews are currently fighting for supremacy in America and other nations around the world. One is the Christian worldview upon which this nation was founded that finds its roots in the teachings of biblical revelation.  Generally speaking, a conservative political and social philosophy is consistent with the Christian view of life. That’s why in 2000 a high percentage of Christians voted for George E. Bush because he was generally known as a conservative politician. Christians, or traditional values people, vote conservative if they’re consistent with the Bible’s perspective.

The other worldview that has gained ascendancy in American life in the past forty years could be described as atheist, secular, or progressive (that’s what they like to call themselves). These words are all synonyms. Generally speaking, a liberal political or social philosophy is consistent with the atheist view of life. That’s also why in 2000 a high percentage of secularists voted for John Kerry – because he was known as the liberal politician. Secularists or progressives vote liberal if they’re consistent with their worldview.

Thus conservatives share a Christian view of reality. Liberals share an atheist view of life. That’s not an opinion – it’s just a fact. Not all conservatives are Christians; Not all liberals are atheists. However, Christians tend to be conservative and secularists tend to be liberal. It can be no other way.

Boehme can insist that his twisted view of Christianity is the foundation of this country, but just off the top of my head I can thing of three huge exceptions:  Remember Thomas Jefferson, who took an exacto knife to what he considered a redundant and ill-organized Bible?  Or that happy and prosperous womanizer Benjamin Franklin?  Or that diest (at best) Thomas Paine who wrote both the foundational catalyst Common Sense and the anti-religious Age of Reason?  Such messy details cause the glue to dissolve in Boehme’s simple black/white model of the universe.  No surprise then that he scrubs them from the reconing.

Step Two. Force an Atheist Definition on Opponents.

The other worldview that has gained ascendancy in American life in the past forty years could be described as atheist, secular, or progressive (that’s what they like to call themselves). These words are all synonyms.

Step Three. Assign Lucifer to Your Opponent’s Views and Yourself to God’s.

I believe it’s the truth of spiritual warfare. There’s a God and there’s a devil. That’s the Best Explanation.

Here’s how it works. God is the perfection of moral character. He is the standard of morality – what is right and what is wrong. He is righteously and justly for sexual purity, honoring marriage, respecting life, and moral self-control which is foundational to happiness and holiness. He knows that all immorality is both self-and-socially-destructive – and will separate a person from his holiness for eternity. God requires – form – in our moral relationships for our good.

He is also the Creator of the universe and all it contains. He wants man to take dominion over the earth – to steward and improve it. This can only be done through freedom, creativity, innovation, and few restraints on industry and enterprise. God’s – invisible hand – of freedom is the key to invention, prosperity and success.  And God desires his creatures to be moral so that they can be productive.

So followers of God are for controls on morality and freedom in business.

It’s the equation for success.

But there is also a devil, impacting the hearts and minds of people who do not believe. He also desires to bring them to poverty of life and health through government controls of commerce and industry. Satan wants people immoral and poor.

So followers of Lucifer (either consciously or unconsciously) are for freedom in morals and controls on business.

It’s the recipe for destruction.

Bring it Home:  Recap Using Words Ringing With Unearned Authority.

There is a God and there is a devil.

That explains it best.

Now you know what conservative and liberal mean. You know where each idea comes from. The genius of  America was the power of morality producing freedom and prosperity – through faith in God. The downfall of America will be achieved through the decay of immorality that produces poverty – through faith in men (devil-inspired).

Notice how if you’re poor, according to Boehme it’s probably because you’re in league with Lucifer?  If only Jesus had Ron Boehme around to teach him the truth about the eeviiil poor!

Well, I must say that it is refreshing that even if Boehme is incapable of understanding or being honest about the complications of history and reality, he is at lease apparently willing to be honest about what he thinks of LGBT civil rights advocates.  Now what remeanis to be see is how many voters think he’s gone too far in this demonization of whatever and whoever he disagrees with.
