Focus on Family Employee Arrested for Chasing Online Underage Tail
Oooo dear. I guess being a fundamentalist Christian doesn’t make you a good person. Or even a law abiding one. Juan Alberto Ovalle, 42, who works for a Spanish-speaking arm of Focus on the Family, narrates Biblical text for their Spanish language CDs and
founded Spanish Christian Audio in 2001 to help Christian organizations with their audio needs
was arrested on suspicion of using the Internet to arrange sex with a girl under 15. Jzs, ur dum.
According to a statement from the Jefferson County, Colorado DA’s office, Ovalle was online and made
sexually graphic statements in a chat room to a person he believed to be an underage teen.
The Denver Post reports that after describing a variety of sex acts he’d like to perform with her, Ovalle then asked if the "teen" girl who was secretly an undercover police officer, would to like meet. Ovalle also said he was horny. The faux-teen said her mom wasn’t home…Ovalle drove over in his pick up truck.
Ooops. ZOMG! It doesn’t take watching more than one segment of Dateline: To Catch a Predator to know this is not going to end as just a wacky misunderstanding!
Here’s Ovalle narrating in Spanish from 1 Corinthans including 6:18, the admonitions against unlaw fornication.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
which the Colorado Independent posted up. Sadly I couldn’t find Ovalle reading Luke 18:16, you know part where Jesus says
Suffer little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God
Really, you can justify anything with the Bible can’t you?
Focus on the Family spokesperson Gary Schneeberger responded:
And added that they’d cooperate with authorities.
Ovalle, who is being held on $25,000 bail appeared in court Monday on two felony charges — criminal attempted sexual assault on a child and Internet luring of a child is set to be formally charged Thursday morning.
The Colorado Independent quotes the Focus on the Family website as saying that Ovalle
came to know the Lord at the age of 14
Maybe they mean that like in a Biblical sense.
