carper.thumbnail.jpgThere are a lot of problems with the political class in DC, but possibly none greater than the GOP’s successful creation of a bubble reality where things become real just because they say they’re real. Case in point, Employee Free Choice:

Delaware Sen. Tom Carper backs the bill but doesn’t want to get rid of the secret ballot. “I think that invites intimidation,” he said.

It is absolutely, physically impossible that this guy hasn’t met with labor leaders over Employee Free Choice (EFCA) and had the details of the bill explained to him — specifically, as we all know by now, the Employee Free Choice Act does not get rid of the secret ballot.

Yet somehow, the constant repetition of the Big Lie by the right wing echo chamber is more real than the actual bill itself, which isn’t all that complicated. Carper himself voted for cloture on Employee Free Choice last time around.

It’s like they’re on Mars.
