Tonight (March 12) Chris Matthews opened his news program reflecting on his interview (wrestling match) with Ari Fleisher on Wednesday evening. He mentioned that many had noticed one of Ari’s closing statements which was “Äfter Sept 11 having been hit once how could we take a chance that Saddam might not strike again” Chris reported that he had not noticed what Ari had said but many had. You bet your ass we had. The hundredth time Bush administration officials had falsely tied 9/11 to Iraq. God All Mighty! Enough!

The rest of the show was another crazy wrestling match between Frank Gaffney and David Corn. Frank said this on the Matthews program about the war in Iraq in Dec of 2008 "It is regrettable that they had to die, but I believe they did have to die. The danger was inaction could have resulted in the death of a great many more Americans than 4,000. And that’s the reason I’m still delighted that we did what we did."

During the interview with Matthews Gaffney spent far too many minutes spinning Ari Fleisher’s lies from the night before. David Corn could barely get a word in edge wise. It was difficult to watch. At one point I had had enough and found myself shouting at the television "just line them (Bush, Cheney, Rice, Feith, Fleisher, Feith and the rest) up against the wall and be done with it. Done with it." We know we all know if any of us had the balls or were that committed to justice that is what would have all ready taken place. Be done with these murdering thugs. Be done with them. If I thought for one minute that they would be held accountable in the alleged halls of justice I don’t think I would feel so outraged. But it does not look like this will be the case. At the very least drop the Bushco thugs butt assed naked down in the middle of Baghdad and let them run for their holes in the ground. What would the Iraqi people do with them if they could get their hands on them?

Instead of Chris Matthews advocating for accountability he subjects us to the torture of listening to their ongoing lies and I was foolish enough to listen. Because somehow I still have a feint hope that the Bush administration will be held accountable for these lies that resulted in unnecessary and immoral deaths of hundreds of thousands.

Chris asked tonight "what have we learned" from the war in Iraq and the run up to that war?

Here is what I have learned.

That mostly old men will send mostly young men (and some women) to wars based on complete lies and get away with it.

That this has gone on all through history and leaders in the U.S. have mastered these strategies.

That we have learned zip from this ongoing brutal history lesson.

That the media is often part and parcel to promoting these lies.

That the Bush administration got away with it and will not be held accountable for the hundreds of thousands of deaths, injuries, and 5 million Iraqi refugees that are a direct result of the lies having to do with "alleged" WMD’s in Iraq.

That most Americans could care less about this death and destruction.

That the Americans that do care should march by the tens of thousands into their Representatives offices instead of marching in the streets, writing and calling when they try this again. Oh yeah AfghanistanT

hat Chris Matthews is chicken shit to have people like Professor Juan Cole, Scott Ritter and Flynt Leverett on his program.

That Chris Matthews does not have enough chutzpah to examine his own twisted remark about Iran during his scramble with the scumbag liar Ari Fleisher

What have you learned from the immoral and illegal war in Iraq?
