JimyDobsonI don’t know where they are getting the “taxpayer” slant from. There is no explanation in their screed. Then there is the usual nonsense about “children are best served by a home that provides both father-love and mother-love.” Of course they cannot substantiate that claim as a comparison to gay couples. The published and peer reviewed research concludes that there is no difference in the well-being of children raised by same-sex couples in contrast to their heterosexual peers. Given that Dobson advocates beating the crap out of babies (children as young as 15 months old) into submission with a paddle until they provide ample tears, he is hardly a responsible voice for child development.

California Uses Taxpayer Money to Push Gay Adoption

A dozen billboards in West Hollywood are encouraging same-sex couples to adopt. They feature a picture of two men and a boy and the message, “Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Family.”

Ron Prentice, executive director of the California Family Council, said the taxpayer-funded campaign is part of a larger agenda.

“We know the homosexual lobby in California is especially tuned to influencing society to believe that their lifestyle is as normal as any other,” he said. “The truth is that children are best served by a home that provides both father-love and mother-love. And research shows that married heterosexual couples offer far greater odds for family stability.”

Kelly Rosati, Focus on the Family’s senior director of Sanctity of Human Life, said there could be a silver lining to the California campaign.

“One of the good things that can come out of a controversy like this is that Christians in the community can rise up and say, ‘We will be the families for these waiting kids,’ ” she said. “Christians need to know they have orphans right in their own state and we need to be the families into which God sets those lonely children.
