President Obama inherited Bush’s state of the economy – the worse economic crisis since the Great Depression – and is trying a bipartisan approach to pass an economic recovery bill. But Republicans, in spite of demanding and receiving concessions including $400 billion in tax cuts and a reduction of recovery spending by $100 Billion, are still working actively to defeat the bill.
Among the spending reductions are school renovations. Republicans will pay for schools in Iraq but not for schools in America.
Why is passing an economic recovery package with bipartisan support so difficult? Democrats have made concessions to Republicans but Republicans still actively work to defeat the bill.
