Every bomb ever made falls on all of us.

Rockets and blockades are crimes, and both must end. You cannot end two crimes by committing a far more terrible third crime.

Jonathan Turley (during an interview about torture on the Rachel Maddow show)

I mean, that building [the Capitol] is where principles go to die.

Martin Luther King (Riverside Church, NYC, 4-4-6)

We still have a choice today: nonviolent coexistence or violent coannihilation. We must move past indecision to action. We must find new ways to speak for peace in Vietnam and justice throughout the developing world, a world that borders on our doors. If we do not act, we shall surely be dragged down the long, dark, and shameful corridors of time reserved for those who possess power without compassion, might without morality, and strength without sight.

I really don’t understand how bipartisanship is ever going to work when one of the parties is insane. Imagine trying to negotiate an agreement on dinner plans with your date, and you suggest Italian and she states her preference would be a meal of tire rims and anthrax. If you can figure out a way to split the difference there and find a meal you will both enjoy, you can probably figure out how bipartisanship is going to work the next few years.
