DNI McConnell Bails: I’m All Right To Drive
Dennis Blair hasn’t been approved by the Senate as the next director of national intelligence yet — if I’m not mistaken, the Senate intelligence committee hasn’t yet voted his nomination out to the full chamber — but the existing DNI, retired Adm. Mike McConnell, has… abruptly quit. McConnell, famous for making misleading statements about warrantless surveillance and even waterboarding, didn’t really give an explanation for leaving the job early, according to AP intelligence reporter Pam Hess. I sent WTF-emails to McConnell’s spokespeople, so maybe I’ll find out more, but to level with you, I sort of doubt I will.
Hess notes that McConnell’s going back to his pre-DNI job at defense/intelligence/consulting giant Booz Allen Hamilton.
