Three Minutes of Pure Joy
In this post, I noted that my daughter had made a cell phone video of the celebration around us on the National Mall as Barack Obama was sworn in as President. The video (although rotated 90 degrees and of low resolution) shows three minutes of pure joy being shared by all the people around us. Here it is:
Apparently, there was some discussion over at Glenn Greenwald’s blog on Tuesday on whether it is appropriate to celebrate the Inauguration. At least for those seen in this video, the joy Tuesday was spontaneous, sustained and genuine.
