Ideas for Change: second-round voting underway!
|Last month I posted about change.org’s Ideas for Change in America competition:
First-round voting wrapped up on December 31, and the top three ideas in each category made it to the finals — including mine, Get FISA Right, repeal the PATRIOT Act, and restore our civil liberties, which finished #2 in the Criminal Justice category.
There are several LGBTQ-oriented ideas:
change.org has set things up to encourage people to promote ideas — embedding widgets, sending out links, etc. During the last couple of days of the first round, an idea that was featured on Daily Kos picked up over 1000 votes and vaulted from #13 in the “Other” category to #3. To get an idea of what’s possible, here are some of the things we’re looking at doing for the Get FISA Right idea.
So roll up your sleeves and get to work! As my post on the Get FISA Right blog says, “Vote early, promote often!”
