At some point during the last few days, during discussion of Obama’s insult to LGBTs by picking Rick Warren for his inauguration, I saw a comment that no-one would expect Obama to pick a gay priest for the role. However I think right now is the perfect time for exactly that – in fact other than disinviting Rick Warren (which would cause a nasty backlash from the Religious Reich) I cannot think of a better way to solve the problem than to have Reverends Troy Perry and Rick Warren both deliver invocations – or even deliver one together.
