Obama on MTV: NO on Prop 8

On MTV’s "Ask Barack Obama," the Senator from Illinois states his opposition to Proposition 8.  He says, ‘You know, I have stated my opposition to this.  I think it’s unnecessary.’

Unfortunately, like too many Democrats seeking office — although he was not asked, he also states his belief that marriage is between a man and a woman. Although he was not asked, he also says that he is not in favor of gay marriage.

Good for the interviewer, and the questioner, for limiting the question to Proposition 8. Too bad our candidate seemed to try to cover as many bases as he could in one answer.

But, finally, he clearly states that amending any Constitution to prohibit people’s rights and relationships is not what America is about.
