Boxer: Vote NO on Prop 8, I am
Barbara Boxer sent an email to her large list of California voters and donors today, asking them to support the fight against Prop 8.
Dear Friend,
Prop 8 is a statewide ballot initiative that would put discrimination against same-sex couples into the California State Constitution. It is unfair, unnecessary, and wrong.

Distractions and distortions. I know from personal experience that these are the tools of those who practice the politics of fear and division.
On Election Day, I hope you will reject these mean-spirited tactics and join me in voting No on Proposition 8.
Prop 8 is a statewide ballot initiative that would put discrimination against same-sex couples into the California State Constitution. It is unfair, unnecessary, and wrong.
A broad coalition of Californians has come together to defeat Proposition 8. And they need your help now.
Prop 8 will eliminate rights. Those are the facts. But that’s not what you’ll see on TV from the supporters of Prop 8. The Yes on 8 campaign is spending tens of millions of dollars to distort the facts and hide the true purpose of this divisive initiative.
The supporters of Prop 8 are making outlandish claims about what will happen if Prop 8 fails to pass. These are just distortions to distract voters from the fact that Prop 8 singles out a group of Californians for unfair treatment.
The only way we can fight against these extreme tactics is to make sure the No On 8 campaign has the support it needs to tell voters the truth about Prop 8. Click here to join the campaign today!
I know from experience that to beat the smear machine, you need grassroots supporters to help fight back. The No on 8 campaign has a statewide grassroots effort underway with house parties, phone banks and rallies across the state to spread the word about this unfair initiative.
Please join me and Vote No on 8. Thank you so much for your help and for your support of equality.
In Friendship,
Barbara Boxer
U.S. Senator
