Friends and I happened to be comparing Paul Krugman to Jay-Z — apropos of a Borowitz piece — when suddenly the Pentagon sent me an announcement from Army Chief of Staff George Casey about a new general-officer assignment:

Maj. Gen. Paul S. Izzo, deputy for acquisition and systems management, Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army (acquisition, logistics and technology), Washington, D.C., to commanding general, U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Md.

This means, officially, that Izzo will be herbin’ ’em in the home of the Terrapins. But what with the cost-overruns of much materiel tested at Aberdeen, it remains to be seen if he got it dirt-cheap for ’em, or, if they’re short with cheese, he’ll work with ’em.
