Perez and more celebs pitch in to stop Prop H8te

Gossip diva Perez Hilton has kicked down some cash to kick Prop 8’s ass, and Grey’s Anatomy‘s TR Knight got even cozier with the lavender body political by making a second $50,000 dough-nation to fight California’s gay marriage ban, Prop 8.  Suze Orman just gave $10K. The entertainment industry has been rising to meet the challenge of Ohio entrepreneur Jonathan Lewis to the entertainment industry: If show biz shows No on 8 the money, raising $500,000 for No on Prop. 8, and he and his family will match the contributions dollar for dollar.

Another big donor?  Jon Stryker billion-heir founder of the Michigan-based Arcus Foundation gave an additional $200K, bringing his contribution to fight Prop H8te to a very sexy half million.

Out Magazine’s Popnography blog outted their November cover boy Neil Patrick Harris as the West Hollywood "self-employed prestidigitator" who donated $2500 to No on 8 based on campaign records and comment from the former Dr. Doogie Houser:

I’m a magician at heart, so smoke and mirrors is great. The idea of smoke and mirrors tends to suggest suppression and the idea that you don’t want people to know about who you really are, but as an actor you kind of do want people to not know who you really are. I think it was nice to have a bit of a smoke screen in a way.

But there’s nary a dime yet from newly weds Ellen and Portia…And here’s my challenge: If loudly gay friendly straight gal Kathy Griffin gives more to No on 8 than Perez, I’ll perform the wedding for a couple of her choice, homo or het.
