I love my wacky, politically atuned neighbors. I hope other Californians, and Obamaphiles across the country take this idea and run with it. The email reads:

Bake for Barack! It’s the "yeast" we can do — a big bake sale to help "raise dough" for the Obama/Biden ticket. All proceeds will go directly to the campaign, specifically targeting efforts in swing states.

And actually there will be more than just tattooed punk rockers selling homemade treats in the parking lot next to legendary club Spaceland (White Stripes and Arcade Fire are among the bands who made their LA debut there). Along with a Sarah Palin impersonator and lemonade from a genuine kid-run stand (which is a great way to help get kids see what it’s like to contribute to a cause), voter registration will be taking place since October 20 is the last day to register. It’s a perfect location, walking distance from both the dog park and LA Mill, the home of the $10 cup of coffee. Yup, a $10 jolt of joe because those tattooed punks have grown up into–or married–rock stars, producers and Tv/moviestars.
