For as much as pundits decry the use of the “smear campaign” and warn of the risk of blowback to the smearer, the McCain/Palin mudslinging campaign seems to be working.
This morning's early daily tracking numbers, comprised mostly of polling from Saturday, 10/4 through yesterday, show movement towards McCain, of one or two points, well within the margin of error. Apparently America still loves a scandal, no matter how outdated or debunked.
What does this all mean? In my opinion, prepare yourselves for a heavy dose of Rev. Wright over the next six days, followed up with a rather vicious McCain debate performance a week from tonight. Ah, the good ole' USofA, paragon of Democracy (and mudslinging).
