I never had a DailyKos account. Consequently, I never learned the tricks of the trade when it comes to making a blog post "popular". I always wondered how people would find and weed through all those competing posts and vote something onto the front page.

In the weeks to come, I look forward to learning this process.

I also look forward to seeing blogpost length entries from those of you who have been such valubale contributors in the comment threads. I am excited at the prospect of hearing YOUR ideas of what ought to be covered on a given day.

I am even more excited about the prospect of turning our thousands of readers loose to go forth and do citizen journalism. Think of all the amazing first person reportage we can accomplish with the addition of all of you to the beat.

In rugby, the looseheadprop is the player in the front row of the scrum, who has the ability to collapse the scrum, pretty much at will and without the referee knowing who did it.
While this can give the LHP's team a great tactical advantage, it also exposes scrum players from both teams to the dangers of catastrophic spinal cord injury.
Consequently, playing this position makes you understand your responsibility to put doing the right thing ahead of winning, and to think beyond your own wants and desires. It also makes you very law and order oriented.
