Israeli President Shimon Peres yesterday met for the first time with Governor Palin at the Clinton Global Initiative, with John McCain in attendance. According to an aide to Mr. Peres, the diplomatically challenged Palin said:
I wanted to meet you for many years. The only flag at my office is an Israeli flag and I want you to know and I want Israelis to know that I am a friend.
This from a woman who launched a whisper campaign that her opponent in the Wasillia mayoral race was Jewish.
Well, she does have an Israeli flag in her office. A little teeny one. Along with a large Alaska state flag and two equally large US flags, one in her office and one in the foyer.
Maybe the First Dude’s involvement with secessionist Alaska Independent Party clouded Gov Sarah’s mind for moment (check out the links on that site, complete with a quote from Jefferson Davis, head of the Confederate States during the Civil War! Wow, who knew there was Waco Electronic Holocaust Museum?
There’s a reason hardline fundamentalist Christians are pro-Israel. It’s a nasty one they don’t like to talk about publicly, outside of their own churches.
To counteract the GOP’s pro-war in the Middle East stance, the Jewish Council for Education and Research launched The Great Schlep, a campaign which aims to have Jewish grandchildren visit their grandparents in Florida, educate them about Obama, and get them to vote.
