Who Says Republicans Aren’t Funny?

boehnergolf.thumbnail.jpg. Karl Rove on John McCain: "Mr. McCain is the most private person to run for president since Calvin Coolidge in the 1920s. He needs to share (or allow others to share) more about him." Yeah, he probably needs to start talking about that POW thing he never wants to bring up.

. Republicans in the House continue their geek show on behalf of the oil companies, and House Minority Leader John Boehner expresses his sympathy with the #Dontgo indignation by…golfing. Meahwhile, John McCain is exhorting Democrats to go back to the sham session – even though he himself hasn’t been present for an energy vote since he and Methuselah were whippersnappers. But hey, the GOP has to earn that $13.5 million in big oil contributions this cycle somehow, right?

. Newt Gingrich threatens to shut down the government if the Dems won’t allow a vote on drilling in September. Because, well, it worked so well the first time. Newt doesn’t seem to realize that this isn’t his call, and the guy who would be in charge is trying to sink a putt on the 9th, but a camera is a camera and Newt hath no fear. Or shame, apparently.
