Charlie at Abu Muqawama calls my attention to a very worthy cause: donate your unwanted books to the library at the soon-to-open American University of Iraq in Sulaymaniya, Kurdistan. (Yes, placing the "American University of Iraq" in breakaway-to-be Iraqi Kurdistan is risable and euphemistic and perhaps even provocative. Act now before the library is burned to the ground! Or maybe after, so it can be rebuilt… But anyway.)

If you’re like me, you’ve got all these neocon monographs lying around. Reuel Gerecht’s banger, The Islamic Paradox, apologizing for theocracy. Bill Kristol and Attackerman homie Lawrence Kaplan’s The War Over Iraq. Fouad Ajami’s The Foreigner’s Gift. An End To Evil: How America Can Win The War On Metaphysics by Perle and Frum. What better place to send these books than to Iraq, where Arabs and Kurds can forever disagree about their meaning and learn to blame America for being so fucking stupid?
