McCain says the war in Iraq will be won by 2013. http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/15/mccain.2013/?iref=hpmostpop

What is it with these guys who want to point to a date after their potential elections/re-elections? It's the perfect out.

If McCain gets elected, he doesn't have to change strategy in Iraq during his first term. He can hold on to 2013 until after the 2012 election. And then he can say “well, it's not going as well as I had hoped” without consequence. It's the same stunt Dubya used, even extending it until after his presidency with “that will be decided by future presidents and future governments of Iraq”.

When will we have real leaders who are willing to take a stand, instead of handing off responsibility to everyone else?
