Telecom Immunity Removed From House Bill
Woo! Let’s have a party….
Looks like the Republican’s "secret session" strategy backfired, and they lost some Bush Dogs in the process.
Eleven Democrats voted "nay," and that may include some protest votes from progressives.
Leonard Boswell, one of the 21 Bush Dogs who signed the original letter to Pelosi expressing support for telecom immunity actually spoke on the floor in favor of passing this bill without it, and voted the right way. Props to his primary challenger Ed Fallon and his helpful FISSA statement, and whatever part it played in Boswell’s inspirational "come to Jesus" moment.
