Change is good. Large denominations are better.
Allow me to go all Ann Althouse for a moment and talk about Ann. No. That’s not right. Talk about me. That’s it. Yes. That’s what I want to do. Me.
After reading about 300+ comments between two sites I thought I would take the time to explain what has happened, why it happened, and what to expect.
Recently I had been giving some serious thought about quitting the blogging game. I work 40-50 hours a week at a real job and then I come home and blog and read blogs and then blog some more because what I mainly do is blog about what other bloggers are blogging about and how stupid it all is. It may be a niche, but it’s my niche.
The reason I do this is because I enjoy it. I don’t do it for money, I do it because it pleases me, which I guess is the difference between a whore and a slut. In the five plus years that I have been blogging I haven’t made a cent off of it and, this is important, I really don’t care if I ever make a cent off of it. When Jane approached me about being associated with FireDogLake I immediately agreed because I have a tremendous amount of respect for the work that FDL has done and continues to do. That alone made me interested in continuing blogging.
Part of the deal is that I would continue doing what I do, otherwise why bother? So, yes, things will stay basically the same unless I get tired of it. The new TBogg site is hosted by FDL but it is still my blog. We get to use the naughty words and FDL gets to sell advertising. A fair trade.
Yes, it looks different. Yes, you have to register. And yes, you will occasionally have to click on the Read More button. Honestly, it’s not like you couldn’t use the exercise spending all your time reading blogs like you do. But I expect that you will get use to it because you’re a big kid now. Well some of you are at least.
As for the comments, I think that they will sort themselves out and I have no plans for moderation. So go ahead and fuckityfuckfuck away…but in a clever and ironic way. Let’s just keep the misogyny to a low roar.
Give it a chance. Like some sex acts, you may not enjoy it but one day you’ll grudgingly respect it.
